Loomis Firearms has temporarily suspended transfers due to the measure 114 fiasco. All un-authorized transfers will be assessed an additional $50 fee.

If you’re buying a gun online or from another person (locally), you’ll need the services of a federally licensed firearms dealer with a current FFL (Federal Firearms License). An FFL dealer, like Loomis Firearms LLC, is the only entity who can legally receive a firearm and facilitate the transfer to you. 

Before starting the process, please contact us. We can order most new firearms direct and save you money. There are never any transfer fees or shipping charges when you order directly from Loomis Firearms. 

Transfer Fees and Process

When you purchase a firearm online that Loomis Firearms is not able to order direct:

  1. Contact us before placing your order to confirm we will be available to receive your transfer (we close for vacations and holidays).
  2. Provide us your contact information and order details.
  3. Provide us the email address of the retailer if we need to send them a copy of our FFL (many shops already have it on file).
  4. Once your firearm arrives, we will contact you to setup an appointment. Click here for our hours.
  5. At the time of your appointment, please park in front of the shop (large bay doors). Please be sure to have your unexpired driver’s license, ID, or CHL with current address.
  6. Your appointment will take approximately 15-30 minutes total. We will provide the necessary paperwork (Form 4473) and thumbprint card.

FFL Transfer Fees

New Firearm: $30 + $10 for each additional
Used Firearm: $40 + $10 for each additional

Additional Fees:
$20: Per firearm for failing to contact us before ordering
$20: Per firearm we could have ordered direct
$20: For accessories orders sent to us instead of to you
$20: Per firearm for non CHL holders
$20: Per firearm over $1000 MSRP
$20: Per firearm per week storage fee after first two weeks
$20: For firearms sent with excessive packing peanuts
$20: Late/missed appointment
$20: Missing documents at appointment requiring a re-schedule

+ All transfers require a $10 background check

Transfer and background check fees are non-refundable, even if you fail the background check.

We accept cash, check, zelle, and Visa/MC (3% fee).

$40 + $10 for each additional gun/receiver

Please note all firearms leaving our shop must be accompanied by a trigger lock. You can bring one from home, get one for free from the county sheriff or buy one from us for $10. This is usually only an issue with used guns. New guns almost always come with a lock from the manufacturer.
