Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us to setup an appointment or get a special order started. Generally we do not ship, but sometimes we make exceptions, just ask.

Yes, we do private party transfers. Please visit our Transfers page for details.

The first step is to contact us and let us know what you are transferring. If it’s a new firearm, we can generally order it direct and save you money versus you ordering online and paying us a transfer fee. Please see our Transfers page for full details.

Yes. Generally we require a 20-50% deposit for special orders.

Yes. All local sales of firearms require a $10 background check. This fee will be added to your order.

Generally the background check to purchase a firearm takes 5-15 minutes. Unfortunately since the Covid-19 “pandemic”, BLM riots, and liberal president, the background check queue is in the thousands instead of low teens. This means it is taking a couple weeks for background checks to get processed unless you have an Oregon CHL or unique name. Those with an Oregon CHL (Concealed Handgun License) get bumped to the front of the queue. Those with a unique name bypass the queue entirely and get automatically processed.

It depends. As long as you are a US citizen (or permanent resident) with residency in another state, you can generally purchase long guns in-person at Loomis Firearms. Federal law prohibits the sale of anything but long guns (rifles/shotguns) to residents of another state. That means no handguns (pistols/revolvers) or receivers (AR-15 lower). Also, if you are a Washington state resident, you cannot purchase semi-auto rifles in-person at Loomis Firearms. We can always transfer firearms to your home state, but after shipping and transfer fees at your receiving FFL dealer, it may not be worth the expense.

We accept cash, check, and zelle.

We CANNOT accept Paypal, Venmo, Square etc. as they absolutely will not deal with firearms shops (they are anti-American / anti-2nd amendment).

Generally no. We are a small shop and do not have enough traffic to justify carrying used firearms. You are better off selling it yourself through Northwest Firearms.

As an Oregon resident, the answer is most likely yes. But it depends on the circumstances around your DUII and how your were charged. See this post on disqualifiers in Oregon.
